He completed his first year with Hoops 101 coaching the 6th grade team in 2011. Quinn’s philosophy is to coach players in a way that allows them to realize their potential on and off the basketball court. Currently, Quinn coaches and teaches physical education to elementary and middle school students in Austin.
I am passionate and determined to teach my players the game of basketball to the best of my ability. I continually evaluate my players as well as myself, and I am committed to learning new ideas and strategies from others in order to become the best coach I can be. I expect the best out of my players and I expect the best of myself.
My enthusiasm, motivation, and ambition to teach is what drives me to help my players realize their full potential on and off the basketball court. Instilling core values such as preparation, honesty, self-discipline, patience and persistence will build the character necessary to succeed in basketball and in life as well.I will not allow the scoreboard to gauge my success or my team’s success.
Our level of precision, communication, hustle, aggressiveness, hard work, and sportsmanship will determine our success.
“Don’t permit fear of failure to prevent effort. We are all imperfect and will fail on occasions, but fear of failure is the greatest failure of all” – John Wooden
