We are excited to work with you as part of the Hoops 101 Academy. If you have not yet registered for the Academy, you can REGISTER HERE, and then return to this page for final details regarding what to expect.
The following are some final details for those who have registered.
Paperwork & Survey
- We ask that each athlete fill out the Academy PrEvaluation by Sunday, September 16 at 10 am.
- This helps us get a feel for the goals of each athlete and how we can best impact them over our time together. [space height=”12″]
- Print out and COMPLETE this Medical Release Form and get it signed by your parent / guardian.
- Bring it with you to the first session Sunday and place it in the designated folder on the table.
- Print out, staple and bring your Hoops Academy Player Notebook 2012 with you to the first classroom session, which will begin at 12:00 pm. We suggest you print it out front-and-back to save paper.
- Personal responsibility and EMPOWERMENT are at the core of our Hoops 101 Way.
- For that reason, we are asking YOU to TAKE OWNERSHIP and be ACCOUNTABLE for bringing this notebook.

- Please bring an envelope with your name on it which includes the following:
- Cash or Check for $25 made out to Hoops 101 Basketball LLC
- Print out this Hoops 101 Medical Release Form and get it signed by your parent / guardian.[space height=”12″]
Equipment
- Come dressed and ready 15 minutes before the start of each session in your school practice gear in the case that we compete.
- Basketballs will be provided by the school.
- Please bring a tennis ball.
- There will be a 30-minute classroom session before each On-The-Court Module. Be prepared to take notes and to be an active learner.
- Pens and handouts will be provided. You might want to bring your basketball notebook so you can put your notes away in between drills and clinics. [space height=”12″]
Final Details
- Lunch will be on your own, unless your coach arranges for food to be brought in.
- If your coach arranges for food, it will be extra and the price will be determined by your coach.
- There will be a post-clinic survey that we ask each athlete to complete so that we may improve as an organization. Please help Hoops 101 get better by completing it!

- Weekly Recaps — We will review the week’s classroom session, include video, and post an assignment to be completed by the Friday before the next week’s Academy session.
- YouTube Video–We will post our competitive segments at the end of each day on YouTube and will have the athletes evaluate their own video from home.
- Tout / Twitter / Email / Blog Comment Challenges–We will be experimenting with different ways to increase the interactivity of our lessons. Our mission is to EMPOWER PLAYERS.
- WIth that in mind, we will find ways to celebrate athletes who are able to showcase evidence of their learning AWAY FROM OUR ACADEMY.

Six-Week Session
Dripping Springs YMCA
Sunday Afternoons 12 noon – 2:30 pm
- Video: 12:00 noon -12:30 pm.
- On the Court from 12:30 pm – 2:30pm
- Each athlete will receive six total 2.5-hour small group training sessions.
Early Tuition $180 (first 20 registrants–no exceptions)
Late Tuition $210 (only 28 more late tickets will be available)
